The Rockstars team approached us to assist in building their brand from the ground up. Having just a name in mind and wanting to target the youth market, they entrusted us with the job of designing their logo and corporate stationery and then developing their website thereafter. 

Rockstars is a youth entrepreneurship programme that focuses on equipping high-schoolers with valuable business and entrepreneurial skills which they can use both whilst still in school and afterwards in order to develop their own careers.

The Finished Product

Our team was given almost free reign to create a logo that was bold, eye-catching and would grab the attention of a youth-aged audience. 

We chose a bold yet simple font coupled with a vibrant turquoise accent for the logo and then used pops of this colour as well as a gradient style for the rest of the design elements and corporate stationery.

We were thrilled to begin a partnership with the beautiful Brettenwood Coastal Estate, one of the most exclusive estates in South Africa, early in 2019. Our team was approached to become the marketing and design agency for Brettenwood and our answer was a resounding ‘yes’ to the privilege of working with this incredible North Coast brand, who also happen to be located just a stone’s throw away from our Confab offices. 

The Brettenwood team is a pleasure to work with and we love bringing their ideas and campaigns to life both digitally and in print.

Social Media Management

Our team uses social media channels to both showcase the estate to potential buyers as well as to communicate with existing estate residents. We worked on a photoshoot alongside a talented Ballito photographer Matt Wilkes to capture professional content of the estate for website and social media purposes. Our team also uses advanced advertising tactics to market new property developments through social media to a specific target audience and capturing valuable leads for the estate. 

Email Marketing

Using the powerful channel of email, our team crafts beautiful mailers that are sent out regularly to communicate with the existing Brettenwood database including home owners and tenants, as well as to new leads that we receive through the website.

Graphic Design

We are proud to be the design partner for Brettenwood Coastal Estate and every week we put our design tools to work by creating everything from print media advertisements and marketing booklets to new stationery and branding for the estate. 

When we took over the role of official graphic design agency for Brettenwood, we worked on recreating most of their design elements to ensure a consistent brand voice throughout all of their print and digital touch-points.

When we took over the marketing and design for the estate, our first port of call was a redesign and redevelopment of the Brettenwood website which had grown outdated over the years and was needing not only a facelift, but to include new functionality to better aid in the overall marketing of the estate. Our team developed a beautiful new website which showcases the luxury coastal estate and also serves as a sales portal listing all of the properties for sale and for rent within Brettenwood. Our team not only manages the website on an ongoing basis but develops dedicated landing pages for each new property development within the estate and uses these pages to capture database information for the purposes of remarketing.

Ballito Pro 50th Edition (2018)

When it comes to the sport of surfing in South Africa, actually, the entire continent of Africa, there are few events as synonymous with the legacy of the sport than The Ballito Pro, an event which evolved from the iconic ‘Gunston 500’ that began back in 1969. 

With 2018 celebrating the event’s golden jubilee, 10 years since it moved to Ballito and the 100th centenary of the late, great Nelson Mandela our team was honoured to be the agency partner for the event once again. We were tasked to develop the event campaign that would both capture and communicate these milestone events. 

We then rolled out this campaign into all of the event’s visual touch-points including its logo, brand bible, event poster, magazine and numerous other marketing collateral for both print and digital platforms. 

Our team then rolled out our overall digital strategy including website editing to align the site with the 2018 creative, social media marketing to promote the event and it’s campaign as well as presence at the event for it’s duration to manage the social media and oversee other digital teams including videographers and photographers.

More About the Project

Our team has been the digital and design partners for this event for over 5 years. When we began working on the project, it was the first year that presenting sponsor Billabong came on board. We journeyed with the event, developing it’s marketing campaign and many visual elements until Billabong’s exit at the end of 2018. We then welcomed new sponsor, global core surf brand O’Neill into the fold and our team was honoured to work with the O’Neill South Africa team to roll out the 2019 edition of the event. 

We once again developed the marketing and digital campaigns and created a new website incorporating the 2019 design aesthetic and introducing O’Neill’s brand elements.

We also continued our role of overseeing and managing all the event’s digital elements down at the beach; particularly the social media and website components. 

As we moved into a new era for The Ballito Pro and welcomed in our new presenting sponsor, O’Neill, it was time for a website redesign in order to not only align it with the brand elements of our sponsor but to incorporate new features, a cleaner design and a better user experience overall. We then managed and updated the website frequently throughout the event as well as incorporated the global live streaming into the site.

It’s always a pleasure for our North-Coast based team to work on projects for local brands and businesses, especially one that’s as well known and well-loved in the area as Sage Centre. 

Our team was tasked with the design of a new corporate identity, website and relaunch marketing campaign for the freshly revamped ‘Sage Centre.’ Historically known as just ‘Sage,’ the centre’s developers approached our team to work on this project and create a beautiful and striking brand image for Sage Centre which was to include their restaurant, retail facility and kiddies entertainment area.

The Finished Product

We first began with the conceptualisation and design of the new Sage Centre logo, keeping to the brief of ‘striking, simple and quintessentially North Coast.’ We chose colours that reflect the beautiful outdoor space that Sage boasts, a font that was simple yet memorable and incorporated a subtle ‘leaf’ emblem to once again symbolise the lush North Coast lifestyle that is epitomised by Sage Centre. 

Once we had received the double-thumbs up on the new look for Sage Centre, we began translating this into the website and other marketing collateral. Our team organised a photoshoot with talented local photographer Matt Wilkes to visually capture the essence and vibe of the space and this imagery was then spread across digital and print channels along with the new branding. 

We are proud of the finished product of this project and thankful to have been chosen as the agency partner for the redevelopment and relaunch of Sage Centre.

Ashbourne Lodge

Ashbourne Lodge

Any project that gets us out of the office and on an adventure across South Africa is a project that we welcome with arms wide open! When we received the email in our inbox to quote for the redevelopment of the Ashbourne Lodge website, we couldn’t resist taking up Rob and Dawne Topham, owners of the lodge up on their request. We sat with Rob in a cafe in Ballito when he was in town for the weekend to chat about the project and quickly realised that Ashbourne was not just in need of a new website, but a new brand image as well. Rob invited us to drive up to the lodge, situated a stone’s-throw away from the Kruger National Park so that our team could breathe in the Ashbourne air and be inspired by the gorgeous  lodge and it’s natural surroundings in order to draw inspiration for the project set before us. We were treated like kings during our stay and lapped up the stunning Hazyview sights and sounds before making our way back down to the coast to start bringing the new branding and website to life.

The Finished Product

When conceptualising the new logo for Ashbourne Lodge, we were given free reign to let our creativity run wild and so we knew that we wanted a logo emblem that would be delicate, detailed and in one glance sum up the beautiful surroundings that the lodge is set within. We put pen to paper, or should we say digital pen to digital drawing tablet to create the logo by hand. In the end, it was our Acacia Tree illustration that won the client’s affections and became the new logo for Ashbourne Lodge. We then began to simultaneously work on translating this logo into corporate stationery as well as the design for the lodge’s new website. The site was to feature a visual overview of the lodge as well as the opportunity to book your stay online via the website. In the end we crafted a simple yet striking site for Ashbourne that is both user friendly and easy on the eye.
